Gujarat HC grants relief to Sex Workers

Gujarat MAY 7: We all know that how terrible the life of sex worker will be and how the society treats them.

The high court of Gujarat on Saturday gave a major relief to sex workers who are involved in prostitution.

The details are as follows

The High Court said that "A criminal case cannot be filed on sex workers if they decide to involve in prostitution voluntarily and not by anyone's force."

The Court said the above comments while interpreting section 370 of Indian Penal code.



We know that IPC 370 is a controversial section because it violates fundamental rights of LGBT community.

Finally, the court had differentiated various methods in which sex workers are drawn into prostitution and what kind of punishment to be given.
