GHMC engineers arrested by police

Hyderabad MAY 6: There is a growing corruption in the GHMC department.

The officials are cooperating with the contractors to loot the public money.

Yesterday the police had arrested 12 GHMC engineers for helping the contractors. The engineers are of the cadre of assistant executive engineer (AEE).

The contractors had created duplicate bills for the removal of silt in the concerned areas.



The police had arrested 18 contractors in the above case.

Police estimate that around 1.2 crore money was taken by contractors to remove silt in drainage pipes.
When GHMC inspected there was no silt removal.

The GHMC engineers were released on bail on Friday.
