Telangana got 3rd rank,for Crimes against women

New Delhi, May 06: The Union Minister and congress leader Kapil Sibal stressed on central govt for not putting in place an effective policy to reduce crime against women.While the national capital New Delhi is first in crimes on women.

Sibal addressed to media here, "In the overall crime against women, Delhi stands at number one place. At least 184 women per one lakh of the population are subjected to some kind of attack in the national capital, 83 women in Telangana, 148 women in Assam, 81 women in Odisha, 75 women in Haryana, 73 women in West Bengal, 68 women in Tripura, 65 women in Madhya Pradesh. These are top states in terms of which women are targeted."



The Telangana got placed in 3rd rank on crimes against women, There were 15,315 cases have filed in across the state.

Sibal has welcomed the verdict of the Supreme Court in the gang rape case of December 16, 2012, which is considered as a rarest of rare cases.

"This was the most brutal murder. I cannot accept the fact that she had been attacked in such an inhuman and brutal fashion. We should altogether take some measures in this direction," he added.
