Information Technology department launches new scheme to improve manufacture in India

NewDelhi MAY 5: Do you know that many of the components in mobile phones manufactured in India are imported from other countries? In order to increase the domestic manufacture of mobile components and to promote make in India, the central government has launched a new scheme.The Information Technolgy department has launched Phased Manufactured Program (PMP).

The main features of this scheme are as follows.

* To increase the Indian local mobile components manufacture from 15 to 37 % in feature phones.

* To increase the Indian local mobile components manufacture from 10 % to 26% in smartphones.

* Incentives will be given for manufacturing covers mechanics, dye cut parts, microphone, receivers,
keypad, USB in the current financial year.

* In next year incentives will be given to printed circuit boards, camera Modules, connectors

* In 2019-20 incentives will be given to display, touch panels motor ringers.

Finally, the IT department expects that India domestic
mobile components will increase significantly.
