Manmohan Singh visited more countries than Modi: Amith Shah

New Delhi May 05: We knew that Amith Shah will be here in the Telangana state on 23rd to 25th May, to strengthen the BJP in Telangana for next election. Now, Shah spoke about the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s foreign visits here on Thursday.

President of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Amit Shah accused the Congress party of making an issue out of nothing, citing that former prime minister Manmohan Singh visited more countries than his successor Narendra Modi.

'Our opponents make an issue of PM Modi’s foreign visits, but as per figures, Manmohan Singh Ji visited more countries than Modi Ji,' BJP President said.

Shah also said the perception grew because the former Prime Minister's visits were not covered by media as much as Modi's.

According to the list of government, Modi has - in the three years of his tenure he already visited 56 countries, including four so far in the US, and Nepal, Japan, Russia, Afghanistan and China two times each.

On the other hand, Manmohan Singh visited 35 countries and spent 144 days in foreign visits during his first term. In his second term, visited 38 countries and he spent 161 days in foreign visits, according to the data provided.

During his entire tenure as the prime minister of the first NDA government during 1999 to 2004, had made 19 trips to 26 countries BJP veteran AB Vajpayee.
