Hyderabad City under CCTV Surveillance

Hyderabad, May 05: To curb and crack the crimes, the City Police Commissioner M Mahender Reddy has inaugurated a community CCTV project at Filmnagar in Banjara Hills here on Thursday.

A total of 64 cameras were installed as part of the project in Filmnagar. The project was estimated to cost Rs 40 lakh, with the high definition cameras to be connected to a control room set up locally. At the same time, the feed will be directly provided to the local police station and command and control centre.

The Commissioner said that communities in the city were coming forward to install closed circuit cameras after noticing the advantages of the project.

In a few months from now, the entire city will be under electronic surveillance with the help of communities and government agencies, he said, adding that closed circuit cameras were proving to be very helpful in prevention and detection of crime.
