Akshay is Brand  Ambassador for Toilet Scheme

Hyderabad May 03: We have seen Several stars have been campaigning on Aids awareness, Condom usage, awareness on Polio drops, stopping the age old culture of public urination. Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Vidya Balan etc. celebrities campaigned in the past for bringing awareness in the Indian citizens towards government's initiatives.

Everybody knows that there are not enough public toilets in the country. So Maharashtra State government is introducing a new scheme to tackle this issue, Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis came up with a proposal that there should be a toilet for every 500 meters in Mumbai. He has taken this decision and announced it in the presence of 5000 students on May 1. Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar is known for supporting such initiatives has pledged his support to the government. He will be acting as a brand ambassador to this scheme.



Maharashtra government is planning to design an app for this scheme. Mumbai city needs 1.28 lakh toilets as per the Swachh Bharath Abhiyan Target. The goal and the concept are really good. We have to wait and see how they will make this a reality.
