Internet users to touch 42 crore by June 2017

New Delhi May 03: Nowadays smartphones usage has been increasing extensively, from this many of the smartphones users has been using the internet services.

coming to details that, A report which was published by Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) and IMRB, says that India will have 42 crore mobile internet users by June 2017. The Mobile users in urban areas are spending Rs 275 per month on data.

Last year the number of mobile internet users at the end of December 2016 was found to be 38.9 crores.

Out of the 42 crore users, 25 crore users are expected to come from urban India and the remaining 17 crores will be from rural parts of the country.

Smartphones becoming more affordable and when compared to urban areas, the Rural area people are spending more money on the Mobile internet plans. As per the reports, The growth in user base is faster in rural parts.



Urban users were reported to be top consumers of entertainment, social networking, communication, on mobile internet. As per the report," urban users are paying as much as Rs 552 a month with about 50 per cent going towards data charges."

The young urban users spending more on data services, while the voice charges increased with respective to their age.

The average monthly bill was reported to be the highest for the age group of 45 years, and both mobile data and voice expenditures for this age group were found to be the highest.
