Guinness record by Chennai Students

Chennai May 02: A new Guinness record for the largest keyboard ensemble was created on the World Labour Day(MAYDAY).

Nearly about 440 students participated in creating awareness on child labour.The previous record for the largest keyboard concert was done by 400 participants.

The Young musicians in the age group of 7 and17 years from all over Tamil Nadu assembling to create a new world record at venue-St. Besides Centenary Auditorium in the city

In order to create the labor awareness, "Stop Child Labour Awareness Mega Keyboard Concert" was conducted by Isaimaamani M.S. Martin on behalf of "Melliflous Melodies on Keyboard" and "Madhuradhwani Sangeetha Sabha", a Sabha exclusively for talents in instrumental music.

The children at the concert played patriotic songs like "Raghupathi Raghava Rajaram," "Thai Manne Vanakkam," and "Acham Acham Illai" among others.

Addressing the gathering, Martin said that "We have successfully conducted two recognized Guinness World record events–the largest electronic keyboard ensemble, in the past. In 2011, it was carried out by 109 children at the Music Academy here promoting Carnatic Music".
