Mumbai APRIL 30: How many of us drive an Electric car? Most of us don't.The reasons why Indians don't encourage electric vehicles are as follows

The Cost of these vehicles is high.

The speed of these vehicles is less compared to diesel and petrol vehicles.

The maintenance cost is high.

Lack of adequate infrastructure such as power supply.

Lack of awareness in the people.

Lack of environment-friendly methods for disposal of batteries.

To overcome the above challenges and to promote electric vehicle manufactures and sale in India the central government has framed.

Faster Adoption And Manufacture OF Hybrid and Electric VEchiles in India (FAME) in 2015.Under this scheme
Subsidies are given to manufacturers of the electrical vehicle companies.

To promote 100 % electrical cars on road in India by 2030.

Incentives are given for technology upgradations, the creation of demand, the creation of Infrastructural facility.

To reduce carbon footprint in India.

To reduce import of Petrol and diesel in the country.

Finally, a good start has been made but a long way to go in the electric car...
