Chilli brings tears in farmers eyes

Khammam April 29: The Khammam Agricultural market is the Second largest Market in Telangana.

The Market is Essential for Selling of Chilli Crop.

Chili crop is famous in Telangana. In and around surrounding of Khammam district chili was planted in 1 Lakh Hectares. The farmers from Andhra Pradesh also bring Chilli crop to Khammam market.

Price fall: The prices of the crop recorded as follows

Rs 13500 for quintal last year.
Rs 12500 per quintal in January 2017,
From February prices fell down.

Currently, the price is between 2500 to 3000 per quintal.



The prices have dropped suddenly yesterday and the farmers staged a protest yesterday.

The main reasons for fall in prices are an Excess supply of chili.

shortage of storage space in market yard.

The dealers and market owners formed a syndicate and not buying crops.

Finally, it's high time that government involves and solves this issue.
