ECIL achieved Rs.1500 crore turnover

Hyderabad, April 28: The Chairman of Atomic Energy Commission (AEC) Sekhar Basu has attended as Chief guest to the Golden Jubilee celebrations of ECIL on Thursday.

He further told that, Most of the people were feared when they heard about atomic and nuclear energy, which were due to the incidents of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.He assured that the nuclear energy differs from bombs and this energy will help in the agriculture sector also,he added.

He has congratulated all ECIL employees on completion of 50 years of excellence in the field of electronics and wished the corporation all the best in its future endeavors.

He was addressing at the Golden Jubilee celebrations at a glittering function held here on Thursday. A video on the recollection of 50 glorious years of ECIL was played on the occasion which fascinated the audience.

Earlier, speaking to the media, Sekhar Basu and the Managing Director and Chairman Debashis Das said that ECIL had achieved a turnover of Rs 1,500 crore for the year 2016-17 and was poised to cross Rs 2,500 crore in the near future.

He also said the ECIL had received some orders from the Election Commission of India (ECI) for the supply of around eight lakh VVPATs (Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail) and for the supply of EVMs worth Rs 2,100 crore.
