New Delhi April 26: The central government has focused on bringing higher secondary education syllabus same for all the states.

Up to now, each state has its own higher secondary board, and they decided their syllabus on their own.

In Andhra and Telangana higher secondary education after class 10 is known as intermediate.Andhra and Telangana have their respective Board Of Intermediate (BIE).

The Central Government has decided to do away with each state having their own syllabus.A decision in this regard was taken by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in a meeting held by all state intermediate board secretaries.

All states in principle have agreed to this policy.sources say that CBSE will design the syllabus for all Indias higher secondary education i.e class 11& class 12 . Out of syllabus designed 70 % will be common for all states and 30 % of the syllabus will be framed by state boards keeping in view of regional requirements in their respective states.

This policy will be implemented from next academic year.

CBSE has also taken some other decisions such as doing away with moderation marks and giving grace marks.
grace marks: generally grace marks were given to students when they write exams in special situations such as floods, cyclones, change in syllabus for the academic year and during paper leakages.

CBSE has received many complaints regarding this issue .so after examining grace marks policy it was decided to scrap these because this policy was causing more harm than good to students.

Finally, this policy in line with the policy of all Indian common engineering entrance test.So students be prepared to align with changing syllabus.
