Be aware of your Social Media Postings.?

Hyderabad, April 21: Have you ever posted any obscene message or hateful post in social media be careful you are going to be caught? Many people in this generation think that they cannot be caught by creating duplicate and anonymous profiles.

These days, many people post various hate speeches, morphed photos to tease others or to cause reputation damage to others with the help of fake profiles and photos to hide their identity.

Cyber experts have observed that there is a growing trend in this kind of posts. The officers have also found an increase of cyber crimes pertaining to harassment/reputation damage /blackmail of persons in social media.

They also said that, when a post is made online in social media it reaches to many people within minutes and it cannot be controlled.

Officers say that the postings of hate speeches/morphed photos in social media have increased after supreme court scrapped section 66 of Information Technology Act passed by Parliament.

Experts say that there been many acts and other sections in Indian Penal Codes to deal with such cases.



Experts also said that they have developed new tools and software to detect the location of persons posting such posts using Admins of social Media Groups.

The officers said that it is the responsibility of admins of Social Media Groups to detect such posts and delete them. The officers made detailed presentations about the IPC sections and jail term for different crimes.

IPC 292 any person posting obscene post/ photo/hate speech will be eligible for 2 years imprisonment.

IPC 295 any person posting hate speech relating to religion.

Finally, a word of Caution don't post anything as you wish on Social Media since we have freedom of expression because it is limited to extent that it should not hurt others feelings.
