Governor : We should have the courage to close the colleges down

Hyderabad April 22: AS we knew that Many of the Engineering colleges are having the lack of equipment's of the lab as well as qualified professors.From this perspective Governor, E.S.L. Narasimhan angered on those Colleges.

While coming to matter, He castigated engineering colleges for compromising on quality, and appealed to the Vice-Chancellor of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) to have a re-look at the affiliation to colleges, and close them down if they were not up to the good mark.

Delivering his speech address as the Chancellor of the university here on Friday, Mr. Narasimhan denounced the quality of the colleges and asserted that quantification of education was unacceptable.



"We must be flooded with scientists and technologists if so many students graduate every year, which is not the case. I think it's time we had a re-look at the affiliation of colleges. Unless we are satisfied with the quality, I think we should have the courage to close the colleges down," Mr. Narasimhan said, completely deviating from the circulated speech copy. He acknowledged the Telangana State government’s earlier attempts towards this.
