Sasikala and family ousted from AIADMK: Panneerselvam

Chennai, April 19: The Former chief minister of Tamil Nadu and AIADMK leader O Panneerselvam was termed the state ministers' decision to oust Sasikala and her family members, including AIADMK deputy general secretary TTV Dhinakaran on Wednesday, from the party as the first victory for his faction's protest against her.

"We are ready for talks with the ministers," Panneerselvam told reporters outside his residence.
"We both factions will sit together and settle the differences in the coming days as per the wishes of the party cadre," he said.

CM Edappadi K Palaniswami and cabinet colleagues had on Tuesday decided to boot out VK Sasikala and her nephew TTV Dhinakaran from party posts.



The party leaders, who had supported Dhinakaran said the move was necessary to salvage the party. O Panneerselvam, the leader of the rebel group, had insisted on the ouster of the duo as a precondition for the merger.

After the meeting of senior politicians at residence of CM Edappadi K Palaniswami, finance minister D Jayakumar had said that, "It was a unanimous decision, based on the views of the CM, ministers, MLAs, functionaries and the public to keep Dhinakaran and family away from the affairs of the party and government."
