Four held for IPL Betting

East Godavari April 18: Four persons were arrested on Monday night for allegedly indulging in betting on an IPL match here in East Godavari district, police officials said on Tuesday.
Police officers raided a flat in Bhaskar Nagar area of the city and seized whopping cash worth Rs 1.48 lakh, 13 ATM cards, 9 mobile phone handsets, and one television set.
Rajamhandravaram SP B. Rajakumari said that the police found Meka Srinivas, Prakash, Raju, and Siva wagering bets, when they raided the flat on a tip-off.
The flat belongs to a doctor who has rented it out to Srinivas.
According to the police, Srinivas is the main accused who allegedly arranged to bet for the IPL matches.
Police found a diary in the flat, which purportedly contains names of the bettors.
