Eamcet applicants dropped excessively

Hyderabad, April 17: As we know that, The state level engineering agriculture and pharmacy entrance tests have been differentiated from National Eligibility Entrance Test(NEET) exam except for Eamcet examination in this year.

According to official figures from the Eamcet website, the number of applications for admissions into agriculture, pharmacy and horticulture dropped from 1,02,012 in the first Eamcet held last year to a meager 76,192 this year.

Observers attribute this drop to increased registration for the national-level entrance test.

The Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad (JNTUH), which will conduct Eamcet on May 12, also observed a drop in a number of applications for engineering.

According to figures, over 1,37,428 applications were received this year as against 1,44,510 applications last year.

A total of 1,384 students applied for both engineerings as well as agriculture and medical streams.
