Govt employee held for bribe

Palamuru, April 11: Anti-Corruption Bureau officials arrested a Gram panchayat secretary here on Tuesday for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000

The Incident took place at Pamarru village in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh.

While going to details, P Anand Bhushan was caught red handed at his office yesterday accepting the bribe from a local contractor for sanctioning and releasing his road works bill, ACB, V Gopalakrishnan said.

However, The contractor had agreed to pay the amount and later approached the ACB office, following which a trap was laid last night and Anand Bhushan was caught.

A case under relevant sections of Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against the gram panchayat secretary and further investigations were underway.
