Metro buses to get Wi-fi

Hyderabad, April 11: Now it's time for WI-Fi for the metro buses also, RTC officials confirmed. Going to the details, After introducing Wi-Fi for commuters of air-conditioned city buses, the State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) is now planning to extend the facility to Metro Deluxe buses also.

Under the first phase of the project, the corporation in November last had introduced Wi-Fi facility in 115 AC city buses including 80 Volvo and 35 Pushpak buses with an aim to increasing the occupancy ratio.

After a study of the functioning and usage of Wi-Fi in these buses for more than six months, plans were being chalked out to extend the facility to 154 non-a/c Metro Deluxe buses.

"Our study of air-conditioned buses has shown that the initiative was getting a huge response from commuters, especially youngsters," said a senior official.
