Central team visits to state

Hyderabad March 02: A team from Central are coming to Telangana for a study tour to flagship program of the government Mission Kakatiya on Monday and Tuesday.

The visit of the Central team assumes significance as the government claims that lakes restoration program has given positive results in the State by refilling lakes and water bodies. According to the information, the Central team is to conduct a two-day official visit to take stock of the lakes restoration program, which restored waters in lakes, water bodies and ponds in rural pockets.

Union Water Resources Commission is sending the team at the behest of the Centre, which has already asked several other States to study and replicate for giving a boost to minor irrigation in villages. The Central team comprising some 30 officials from Delhi, Maharashtra, and Odisha are expected to visit the Pedda Cheruvu at Toopran and Rayiravu cheruvu in Narsapur Mandal of Medak district.
