Ramajogayya Sastry attacked Keeravani at IIFA Utsavam

Hyderabad March 30: Recently senior music director MM Keeravani has made some controversial comments on Lyricists in react to this Lyricist Ramajogayya Sastry made some comments on Keeravani at IIFA Utsavam.

Ramajogayya Sastry received Best Lyricist award for 'Janatha Garage' at the 2nd Edition of IIFA Utsavam.

Ramajogayya Sastry: 'Happy to receive an award for 'Janatha Garage' and our film has almost swept the awards. Sometimes awards would be given to songs, which even lyricists don't like, on popularity basis. But, The award for this movie is very deserving'.

'You should telecast this without editing…We have a notion that Old-is-Gold. Old Songs were great and New Songs are sub-standard. Even in those days, there are very bad songs and nobody can say all of them are good. Similarly, There are good and bad songs even now. 'Janatha Garage' is the classic example to say audience will always accept meaningful lyrics. Even Today, People talk about the lyrics on Social Media'.

Recently, MM Keeravani said "Telugu Lyrics got bed-ridden after Veturi and Seetharama Sastry. I have huge respect for him. I wish to say we have many good lyricists such as Bhaskar Bhatla, Anantha Sriram, Chandrabose, and Myself. All of us very capable, or else we wouldn't have survived for this long. Lyricists offer what Filmmakers expect from them. If the Directors stress on good lyrics, why wouldn't Lyricists accept the challenge? No offense to Keeravani..This is an appeal to all the Directors'.
