ACB arrested 2 officials of APSPDCL in a Bribe case

Vijayawada, March 29: The two officials of Andhra Pradesh Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (APSPDCL) has been arrested by Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday while they were accepting a bribe from a consumer.

While coming to details, An Assistant Engineer R Sambasiva Rao and lineman TMDKC Gandhi, who are working with the Payakapuram section of APSPDCL, were caught red-handed by the ACB officials while they were accepting a bribe of Rs 12,000, including APSPDCL fee of Rs 5,600, from a complainant, Shaik Ajaybabu from Radhanagar in Payakapuram, for changing his existing single-phase electricity connection to a three-phase connection.

The bribe amount was recovered from the pocket of the lineman.Both the accused were produced before the special judge for ACB cases in Vijayawada. Further investigation is going on.
