Cab driver arrested for raping a teenager

Hyderabad March 26: A cab driver who kidnapped and raped a teenager was arrested by the Meerpet police officials here on Saturday.

While coming to matter, According to the police officials of Meerpet, the driver(Accused), Danthuri Manikanta (23), who lives in Prashanthi Hills and is a native of Bhongir, had befriended the victim, an intermediate first-year student, a few months ago.

"The man raped the girl two months ago after promising to marry her. Again on March 15, he lured the girl saying he would marry her but exploited her before leaving her in Meerpet," said ACP Vanasthalipuram, V Ravinder Reddy.

Following a complaint from the parents of the teenager, the police registered a case and arrested him on Saturday. He was produced before a court and remanded in judicial custody.
