Supreme court : Midday meals records in website

New Delhi, March 17: State government provides midday meals for school students who are studying in the government school and on Thursday Supreme court ordered to keep all records in the website.

States and UTs must post all records of the midday meal scheme on their websites, including the number of students benefiting and the food provided, the Supreme Court said.

A three-judge bench presided over by Chief Justice J S Khehar approved the 'proforma' for providing details and requirements of the scheme, noting that 25 states have agreed to give information as per the format.

The bench, also comprising Justices D Y Chandrachud and S K Kaul, was informed by the Centre that 11 other states that did not file their replies were also 'not averse' to providing the requisite information.

However, the bench has asked either the education or the health secretaries of the states that could not provide the data to appear before it on July 12.
