Marks mandatory to get Ph.D. Scholar

Hyderabad, March 24: From the Next year onwards, The achievement of Ph.D. scholars was not possible as we expected. Here The University Grants Commission (UGC) had released a new mandatory conditions fo the entrance of Ph.D. Entrance.

JNU announced the changes in the M.Phil/Ph.D. admission by stating: "The exam will be held on all India basis and the question paper will be as per UGC Regulations-2016 i.e. 50% research methodology and 50% subject specific. The entrance exam will be of qualifying nature with 50% qualifying marks followed by viva voce."

This suggests that viva voce will have 100% weight in admission, instead of the traditional 80-20 breakup of weight given to the written and oral components.

"Ph.D. degrees which are pursued either full-time or part-time will be treated as degrees awarded through regular mode, provided these are in conformity with the existing statutes/ bye-laws/ ordinances etc. However, the Ph.D. acquired under distance mode is not permitted.",officials said.

The New Main conditions for the entrance of Ph.D.:

* If the student has qualified in UGC NET, CSIR NET, while they have to pass the entrance tests, which are conducted byUniversities. UGC and CSIR tests are only for fellowships only.

* The student have to get 50% of marks in the entrance tests, which has conducted by University.

* 50% orf marks are mandatory to call for the face to face Interview.
