Hyderabad, March 23: The TS Govt has decided to fulfill 17,000 teachers posts during 2017-18, Deputy Chief Minister (Education) Kadiyam Srihari informed the Assembly on Thursday.

Mr. Srihari, during question hour, said the state government has launched 529 new schools including 300 girls school in the state.

The total vacancies of teachers posts include 8,000 for residential schools, which would be filled through Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) during the current fiscal year 2017-2018.

Kadium said the Annual Status of Education Reports (ASERs) 2016 cover private/government/local body schools in the rural areas was released. However, the ASER, 2016 also indicates that there was an improvement in the reading performance of Class III students of Government schools in Telangana when compared to ASER 2014.

Mr. Srihari said that the government was continuously and sincerely making all efforts to improve learning outcomes of the children in the state with particular emphasis on bio-metric attendance.

Qualitative training to the teachers and regular academic monitoring by the State Level Teams in the government/local body schools.

He said that to provide quality education to the students on the par with private schools, the government has launched KG to PG free education scheme in the state.

As part of it, the government has also decided to accommodate Anganwadi Centers in the Primary Schools to improve their study skills.
