Rally on Water Awareness

Hyderabad March 23: The TRS party on Wednesday organized a rally to spread interest about the importance of water conservation in the state.

"Many times we have found water leakages in localities that leads to thousands of litres drinking water being wasted. Also, people often use potable WORLD Water for washing clothes and vehicles. This leads to wastage of drinking water. We want the people to understand the need to stop wasting water as it is extremely precious," said Mir Inayath Ali Baqri, chairman of Setwin. He along with Telangana Bengali Samithi president, Dipankar Pal, led the awareness rally.

"On the occasion of World Water Day, we have come together to send out a message to all residents of the Old City that it is very important for us to use water judiciously. Saving water can, in turn, save lives. People can go without food, but nobody can exist without water," said Pal repeatedly urging people to conserve water.

Highlighting how the apathy of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply & Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) had resulted in wastage in ATER DAY many places the organizers appealed to the board officials to appoint task teams to identify leakages in Old City localities and take action against those wasting potable water. They also urged the Water Board to look into the drinking water problems that plague many areas in Old City.

Some a areas do not get drinking water regularly and the water is often not fit for drinking as it leads to diseases among children.
