Muslim girl ranked 1st in Bhagwad Gita chanting competition

Odisha, March 17: Nowadays, English medium education has dominating mother language in every state.The negligence of mother language has been rising day by day.Most of the children were failed to read a small text of mother language also.

While coming to the matter, A six-year-old Muslim girl, Firdaus got surprised everyone by claiming the first position in Bhagwad Gita sloka competition.

She was a Class I student of Sovaniya Sikhyashram in Kendrapara, had participated in the Bhagwad Gita chanting competition organised by Pragna mission on Wednesday.

Firdaus and her 10-year-old brother SK Salimuddin are studying in the residential school. Her father SK Noorudin works as a plumber in Dubai while her mother Arifa Bibi resides in Damarapur village under Pattamundai block of the district.

Students from different schools across the district participated in the competition. Firdaus scored 97 marks out of 100 for reciting the shlokas correctly, said Akshya Patri, a Sanskrit teacher and one of the judges of the competition.
